<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a memory card that prevents each contact from being broken due to erroneous insertion of a memory card while achieving the size reduction of the whole connector. <P>SOLUTION: The connector for a memory card is configured by providing an insertion port in the body front face and protruding each contact from a housing at the bottom face part so as to allow a memory card to be inserted thereinto by sliding thereof. At least one contact is configured of two forked run-on pieces, a contact-point part formed at the tip where the run-on pieces are connected, and a housing connecting part formed at each tip of the two run-on pieces. The housing connecting part is connected to the housing on the bottom face with the housing connecting part on the insertion front side and the contact-point part on the depth side.
