<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric drive type working machine capable of accurately computing remaining battery power, efficiently using a limited battery capacity, and extending workload and operating time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Remaining battery power data A when an electric motor is stopped and remaining battery power data B when the electric motor is in an idle drive state is stored in ROM 140 of a control unit 100. In the case that the working machine is shifted from a drive standby state to a normal drive state (time T0), a current value of remaining battery power is sequentially determined on the basis of the initial value β1 of remaining battery power determined on the basis of the remaining battery power data A until the working machine shifts to an idle drive state at time T51. At time T51 when an operating lever is returned to a neutral position, a current value of remaining battery power is sequentially determined on the basis of an initial value β2 of remaining battery power determined on the basis of the remaining battery power data B during the idle drive.
