PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component developer which has excellent transparency, can obtain high color saturation to an image to be formed, can suppress carrier contamination accompanied by long-term storage and long-term use, and has a long lifetime and an excellent maintenance property. SOLUTION: The two-component developer comprises toner composed of a toner particle containing a binder resin and a colorant, and a carrier comprising a carrier particle having a resin coating layer on the surfaces of magnetic particle wherein the colorant of the toner particle at least partially contains a dye, and the resin coating layer of the carrier particle comprises a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer (PFA).
