PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DNA chip that separately or simultaneously performs discrimination of life and death of mold existing in room or food and identification of mold species, and carries out the discrimination and identification in high precision by a simple measurement technique. SOLUTION: The probe for detecting mold includes any one base sequence selected from the group consisting of a specific base sequence and substantially the same base sequence as the specific base sequence. The DNA chip for detecting mold is obtained by immobilizing the probe for detecting mold on a substrate. The method is employed for detecting mold in a sample includes hybridization using the DNA chip. The method is employed for discriminating life and death of mold is produced.
