<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water leakage detecting method, a water leakage detecting system and an radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag which can easily and surely detect even a small water leakage, without requiring a large scale system. <P>SOLUTION: By utilizing the characteristic that a tag working in a high-frequency band (desirably 2.45 GHz), such as UHF band and SHF band is apt to be affected by water, a tag 2 working in the high-frequency band is placed at a location, such as the vicinity of joint of water piping where water leakage tends to occur, and the occurrence of water leakage is determined based on the communication status between the tag 2 and a reader or a reader/writer. Also, by providing an absorber 13, at least part of the front surface or the back surface of the tag 2, providing a guide groove 15 on least either of the front surface or the back surface of the tag 2, or providing a soft magnetic material 17 on the water piping side of the tag 2 and suppressing the effects of the constituting material of the water piping and internal water, the detection accuracy for water leakage is enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
