Optical module of an automobile headlight with mobile cover

The module has a light source e.g. LED, for producing a set of light rays. A mobile cover (600) has an upper element for cutting a generated light beam. The cover is progressively moved between a state, in which the light rays are not intercepted and the light beam ensures a full beam function, and another state, in which the rays are partially intercepted and the light beam ensures a low beam function. The element forms a cut that comprises separate lower and upper parts moved with respect to each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for automatically adapting a light beam produced by an optical module.
