The scanner (1) has a finger impression surface (10) arranged with a line sensor window (11) on which a finger is moved across for detection, where the scanner is mounted on a vertical building part (40). The finger impression surface lies in one-side opened receiving chamber (4) i.e. cap-less receiving chamber, that includes an opening of a chamber wall with an exclusion zone of the opening where the window is arranged. An independent claim is also included for a finger detection arrangement comprising a mounting unit.
