PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller with a retainer having a high-load capacity smoothly supplying lubricating oil to the inside space of the retainer. SOLUTION: The roller with the retainer includes the retainer 12 having a pair of ring parts 14 separated in a direction of an axis O and columnar parts 15 arranged at equal intervals in a peripheral direction to form a pocket and connecting the pair of ring parts 14, and a plurality of rollers 11 arranged between the columnar parts 15, 15 adjacent in the peripheral direction. The columnar part 15 is positioned on a radial outer side than the pitch circle of the roller 11, and a distance between the columnar parts 15, 15 adjacent in the peripheral direction is smaller than the diameter of the roller 11. The pair of the ring parts 14 has a pair of protruding members 16 facing with each other and protruding so that the distal ends approach with each other in a same position with the columnar part 15 in the peripheral direction and in a position on a radial inner side than the pitch circle of the roller 11. The distal ends of the pair of the protruding members 16 are abutted on the chamfered parts 13 on both ends of the roller 11, and the roller 11 is held between the pair of the ring parts 14.
