<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling mold for casting a partially solidified ingot with which a solidified shell is sufficiently thin, and which is adaptable to various ingot sizes, and to provide a preparation method for a partially solidified ingot for a working test using the mold. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The assembling mold for casting the partially solidified ingot is composed of split molds and a board to be mounted with the split molds so as to be fixable/separable. The board is provided with a means of fixing the split molds to standing positions, and the mold is composed so that segments obtained by splitting the mold along the height direction can be assembled/separated on the board.
