VIRTUAL SPACE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Provided is a virtual space management system capable of performing transition processing of subspaces to which user positions belong without interrupting user operations. The virtual space management system includes multiple space management servers for managing respective multiple subspaces created by dividing one single virtual space, and communication control servers for relaying communications between any of the multiple space management servers and user terminals. When a position in a virtual space that is correlated with a user terminal transitions into a subspace managed by a given space management server from inside of a subspace managed by another space management server, each space management server performs processing pertaining to said transition, and the communication control servers maintain communication connections between the user terminals while the processing pertaining to said transition is being executed and change the transmission destination of data received from a user terminal to the space management server managing the subspace after the transition is made in accordance with said transition.
