<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver for a display, the driver performing a stable operation. <P>SOLUTION: A display, more particularly, a backlight unit driver used for the display, provides a driving signal having a frequency synchronized with that of an image signal when the image signal is normal, and provides a driving signal having a preset frequency when the image signal is abnormal, thereby performing a stable operation. For this purpose, the driver includes a frequency detection unit for detecting a difference between a frequency of an input image signal and a frequency of a frequency-divided driving signal, a driving signal generation part for generating the driving signal having a frequency synchronized with that of the image signal based on a detection result of the frequency detection unit, and a control unit for stopping the frequency detection operation of the frequency detection unit when the detection result of the frequency detection unit indicates an abnormal operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
