PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive long superconducting wire constituted by connecting a plurality of superconducting wire materials of short single length such as an end material, which can normally exhibit the function as superconducting wire even when a superconducting wire material locally having a defective part is included or a defective part occurs by wire processing such as bending, and which never reduces the flexibility in design of wiring within a device. SOLUTION: The composite superconducting wire includes a plurality of superconducting wire material lines each constituted by serially connecting a plurality of superconducting wire materials each including an oxide superconducting layer and a stabilized layer formed on a tape-like substrate, in which the positions of longitudinal ends of each superconducting wire material constituting the superconducting wire material line are different from one line to the other line of the superconducting wire material, and each superconducting wire material constituting each superconducting wire material line is electrically and mechanically connected to the superconducting wire materials constituting the other superconducting wire material line adjacent thereto.
