PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption while allowing a resonant frequency of a loop antenna to be adjustable in a wireless communication device for executing magnetic-field communications by the loop antenna. SOLUTION: A wireless communication device includes: a loop antenna 202 for magnetic-field communication; at least one capacitor 218 (an adjusting means) for adjusting a resonant frequency of the loop antenna; a FET 220 for connecting or disconnecting the capacitor to or from a circuit; a pull-up power supply 224 connected between the FET and the capacitor; a storage part 216 for storing information of the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the capacitor; a switching control part 222 for controlling ON/OFF of the FET; and a communication detecting part 214 for detecting that the magnetic-field communication is executed. If the capacitor is effective by referring to the storage part, and also, if the magnetic-field communication is executed by referring to the communication detecting part 214, the switching control part makes the capacitor effective by turning ON the FET.
