The processing tool (1) has an expansion body (4) movable in a radial direction (101) towards tube ends. The expansion body is arranged in an extended position. The expansion body is arranged in a withdrawn position for increasing the maximum diameter of the processing tool compared to the extended position. The expansion body is formed opposite to the tube ends in such a manner that a projection of the expansion body in a radial outer direction (101') covers a partial region of the tube ends in a circumferential direction (100). An independent claim is also included for a method for production of flow channels in tube ends.
