PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire to be suspended from a ceiling surface by hanging pipes, capable of preventing intrusion of insects or powder dust by covering a power source hole or the like existing in the top surface the luminaire. SOLUTION: The luminaire 100 to be suspended from a ceiling surface by hanging pipes 60 includes equipment body 10 including a top plate 24 that is a face facing a ceiling surface 200 and a groove part 20 provided in a part of the top plate 24 with the ceiling surface side being opened; and an auxiliary member 40 connected to the lower end of the hanging pipe 60 and installed to the equipment body 10 so as to cover the opening of the groove part 20 of the device body 10. According to this, when a mounting hole or a power source hole 30 is provided on the ceiling surface side of the equipment body 10, intrusion of insect, powder dust or the like to the luminaire 10 through the mounting hole or power source hole 30 can be prevented.
