PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a position at which the kind (the main part of contents or a commercial message) of the contents changes even when there is a part without a still image of a channel logo or the like though it is the main part in television broadcasting. SOLUTION: A video analysis apparatus includes: a still image detection means for detecting a still image displayed at a part of a screen, which is a display image appearing in the video frame of the contents comprising video images and sound and continuously displayed for the fixed time; a feature detection means for detecting a feature to be the start position of the commercial message; a section kind determination means for determining the main part of the contents and the commercial message on the basis of a detected result by the still image detection means and a detected result by the feature detection means; and a boundary position detection means for detecting the boundary of the main part of the contents and the commercial message from a determined result by the section kind determination means.
