<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring packet loss rate capable of measuring the loss rate with higher accuracy than before in sampling packets and measuring a loss rate. <P>SOLUTION: The measuring device performs a capture process to intermittently capture packets in a session (#12 to #14). The measuring device next measures, in each time period to capture packets, both a capture success number that indicates the number of packets which have been actually captured and a capture-enabled number that indicates the number of packets which could have been captured in a relevant time period if there were no loss at all, and performs a loss ratio calculation process to calculate a loss rate, which is a rate of packet loss, based on the capture success number and capture-enabled number in every time period (#15). The measuring device further performs a loss rate correction process to correct a loss rate in such a way that the smaller the average value of the capture-enabled numbers in each time period, the larger the increase of the loss rate(#16). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
