PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device and a route information presentation method, enabling a user to acquire and avoid beforehand a risk generated by not following a crossing guide at a guide crossing. SOLUTION: When an own vehicle position approaches a spot within a prescribed distance from the guide crossing on a guide route to a destination, a route information generation part 32f presents route information (route approximate chart) on a route from the own vehicle position to the destination when traveling along a road other than a road on the guide route among a plurality of roads connected to the guide crossing, to thereby present beforehand to the user, a route to be traveled when not following the crossing guide at the guide crossing on the guide route.
