PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger which allows the easy takeout and put-in of a battery pack by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: In order to solve the problem, the charger is constituted in such a manner that the charger is formed with a gripping part by which a housing of the charger is gripped by a hand when taking the battery pack form the charger and putting it in the charger, the position of the gripping part is located on a directional line in which the battery pack is taken from and put in the charger, and the battery pack is arranged at the housing of the charger at the opposite side with respect to a direction in which the battery pack is taken out from the charger. Furthermore, the charger is characterized in that the gripping part is formed into a handle shape and the magnitude of its opening is smaller than an opening of a gripping handle, or a recess is formed between the gripping part and the housing.
