PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to a problem wherein measures for estimating the position of a mouth (sound source) when a user operates a digital camera to appropriately acquire sound emitted from the estimated sound source is desired up to now. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus: includes a finder and a display; changes over a display mode for displaying an image on the finder to a display mode for displaying an image on the display and vice versa; sets a process of sound input in a mode for close-talking when an image is displayed on the finder; sets the process of the sound input in a mode for non-close-talking when an image is displayed on the display; and inputs the sound of a preset control command in accordance with the set mode of the sound input.
