<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile electronic apparatus enabling smooth fingerprint authentication operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A portable phone 1 includes: a casing 2; a rotation unit 51 that is disposed on an external surface of the casing 2 and can rotate around a rotating shaft nearly vertical to the external surface of the casing 2; a finger print sensor 52 that is disposed on the surface of the rotation unit 51 while extending in a first direction D1, and reads fingerprints from the motion of fingers in a second direction D2 nearly orthogonal to the first direction D1; a rotation drive 53 for rotating the rotation unit 51; a plurality of contact sensors 54 disposed on the surface of the casing 2 while surrounding the rotation unit 51; a contact detection unit for detecting information from each of the plurality of contact sensors 54; and a rotation control unit for controlling the rotation drive 53 based on the information detected by the contact detection unit and for adjusting the position of the rotation unit 51.
