PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a joint of a gradient magnetic field coil and a cable from breakage caused by oscillation of the gradient magnetic field coil. SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus for imaging the inside of a subject by using the magnetic resonance phenomenon includes a gradient magnetic field coil 13 for generating the gradient magnetic field in an imaging space where the subject is laid, the gradient magnetic field electric source for supplying electric current to the gradient magnetic field coil 13, a cable 1 connecting the gradient magnetic field coil 13 and the gradient magnetic field electric source, and a cable fixing plate 5 and a cable fixing lid 6 for fixing the vicinal site of the joint of the gradient magnetic field coil 13 and the cable 1 to the gradient magnetic field coil 13.
