PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal catalyst carrier in which the insertability of a honeycomb body into an outer cylinder is improved. SOLUTION: In the metal catalyst carrier in which the honeycomb body composed by piling up wavy metal foil and metal foil in a planar or small wave shape and winding them in multiple is press fitted into a cylindrical outer cylinder and bonding parts of both metal foil are bonded by diffusion bonding, the outer peripheral surface, at the axial direction center position, of the honeycomb body 2 and the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder 3 are brought into contact, and a gap 7 between the outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb body 2 and the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder 3 is increased as separating from the axial direction center position.
