<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component such that an external terminal electrode surface can be irradiated safely with laser light so as to securely prevent an electronic component external surface other than the external terminal electrode from being irradiated with the laser light. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic component includes an electronic component body 2 including opposed first and second main surfaces 2a and 2b, opposed first and second side surfaces 2e and 2f, and opposed first and second end surfaces 2c and 2d and also includes first and second external terminal electrodes 5 and 6 disposed on the first main surface 2a. The first and second external terminal electrodes 5 and 6 are spaced apart by a gap region G. When a dimension in a longitudinal direction being a direction linking the first and second end surfaces is denoted by L, a dimension in a width direction being a direction linking the first and second side surfaces 2e and 2f is denoted by W, and a dimension of the gap region G along the longitudinal direction is denoted by "g", relations of W<L-g<2W and L-g+W-ä2(L-g)W}<SP>1/2</SP>>(L-g)/2 are satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
