PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a learning type remote control device capable of easily carrying out an initial setting without limiting an operation object apparatus capable of setting remote control code information, to provide a method of operating the same, to provide an operating program, and to provide a recording medium with the same stored therein. SOLUTION: This learning type remote control device includes: a remote control code information reception part for receiving remote control code information transmitted from a remote control device 5A dedicated to a TV device 4A of an operation object located in a room; a model name acquisition part for acquiring all model names corresponding to the received remote control code information from a management server 1 via a network 3; an initial setting part for executing an initial setting by relating the received remote control code information to all the acquired model names to be allocated to an operation button 26-1 in the own device; and a remote control code transmission part for transmitting the initially-set remote control code information to electronic apparatuses of all the related model names at predetermined time intervals in an optionally set order when the operation button 26-1 is operated.
