<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal fitting structure and terminal fitting method, capable of solidly fixing a terminal with a wiring pattern, without making solder adhere to the tip of the terminal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This terminal fitting structure includes: an insulating substrate (2) having both a surface (4), on which a wiring pattern (14) is formed and a side face (8) following the surface; a metal-made rod-shaped terminal (60), extending along the direction of the normal of the insulation substrate and through the insulating substrate in which the circumference face (62) is electrically connected with the wiring pattern with a solder (92) and the tip (64) is electrically connected to a circuit substrate; and a terminal fitting part (72, 74) formed as recessed from the side face toward the wiring pattern which is to be fitted, by inserting the terminal extending in the direction of the normal along a direction which is substantially perpendicular to the direction of the normal.
