It is intended to provide a lubricant oil composition which is used in an internal combustion engine using a fuel containing at least one member selected from a hydrogenated natural fat or oil, a transesterified natural fat or oil, and a hydrogenated transesterified natural fat or oil, characterized by comprising 10 to 1000 ppm by mass of an alkali metal borate or a hydrate thereof in terms of the alkali metal based on the total amount of the composition. The lubricant oil composition can favorably exhibit cleanliness even if the fuel is mixed therein or has a low ash content.
