PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling AC power by sensing fluid velocity and a water purifier or a water supply device using the same are provided to drive a motor by applying AC power using an electronic delay circuit. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling AC power comprises a fluid velocity sensor, an AC filter(110), an AC/DC switch(120), an AC/DC transformer(130), a time delay unit(140), a driving signal output(150), a driving signal transfer unit(160), and an AC power controller(170). The fluid velocity sensor senses the velocity of the water discharged from a water tank. The AC filter eliminates the noise of the AC power. The time delay unit receives the DC power input from the AC/DC transformer to output a driving signal and a stop signal to a AC power driving device(180) depending on the water flow detected by the fluid velocity sensor. If the water does not flow, the time delay unit delays a predetermined time and then outputs the stop signal of the AC power driving device. The driving signal output outputs 'he control signal output from the time delay unit as the driving signal and the stop signal of the AC power driving device. The driving signal transfer unit switches the AC power from a light-emitting part to a light-receiving part according to the output signal of the driving signal output.
