PURPOSE: A hatch cover apparatus of a carrier ship is provided to enable normal operation even while the carrier ship is traveling in a coldest region. CONSTITUTION: A hatch cover apparatus of a carrier comprises hatch coamings(8a,8b), a rail(9a,9b), covering panels(7a,7b), a driving member, and a sealing unit. The covering panel includes wheels settled in a rail and opens/closes a hatch. The driving member horizontally moves the covering panels along the rail. The sealing unit presses the covering panels to the hatch coamings and includes a rubber packing which is installed on the lower surface of the covering panels and a compression member which is installed on the upper side of the hatch coamings and contacting the rubber packing. Heating wires(30a,30b) are installed near the contact portion between the rubber packing and the compression member.
