摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery having excellent cross leak durability capable of efficiently preventing a base material of a diffusion layer or a collecting layer from being pierced by a face edge of a porous body while retaining compressive force at stacking at a desired value. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel battery formed by stacking fuel battery cells 100, which each has an electrode body 10 formed of a membrane electrode assembly 3 and an anode-side and a cathode-side gas diffusion layers 4, 4 pinching the same, making up the fuel battery cell 100 with the electrode body 10 pinched by a porous body (expansion metal 5) forming a gas flow channel layer and a separator 7, the gas diffusion layer 4 comprises a collecting layer 42 in contact with a catalyst layer 2 forming the membrane electrode assembly 3 and a diffusion layer substrate 41 which surrounds the collecting layer 42.
