PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide white display particles capable of displaying an image having a sufficient white color density and a sufficient contrast even when performing an image display repeatedly. SOLUTION: The white display particles are to be used in an image display device having display particles in a powder form sealed between two substrates at least one of which is transparent, and displaying an image by generating an electric field between the substrates to move the display particles; and the particles contain at least a binder resin and a white pigment 1, wherein the white pigment 1 comprises white inorganic oxide particles 2 having a refractive index of≥2.0, each having a lower layer 3 and an upper layer 4 on the particle surface, and the lower layer 2 is a silica layer and/or alumina layer and the upper layer 4 is an organic layer.
