<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steer-by-wire steering system having a compact constitution and capable of executing the turning by diverting a motor for regulating the toe angle to a drive source for turning even when a turning motor for turning wheels is failed. <P>SOLUTION: The steer-by-wire steering system includes a steering wheel 1 not mechanically connected to a steering shaft 10 for turning, a steering angle sensor 2 for detecting the wheel steering angle, a steering reaction force motor 4 for imparting the reaction torque to the steering wheel 1, and a steering control unit 5a for controlling a turning motor 6 and a steering reaction force motor 4. The turning motor 6 executes the turning by rotation-driving a ball nut 18 to be screwed to a ball screw part 10a of the steering shaft 10. The steer-by-wire steering system further includes a toe angle regulating mechanism 16 having a toe angle regulating motor 7 for regulating the toe angle and provided separately from the turning motor 6, and a changing means 17 for executing the turning by the toe angle regulating motor 7 by connecting a rotor 26 of the toe angle regulating motor 7 to the ball nut 18 when the turning motor 6 is failed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
