PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system capable of reducing a cost, and a saddle ride type vehicle equipped therewith. SOLUTION: A load is transmitted to a transmission 5 through the first link mechanism 220, a shift shaft 250 and the like, when the load is applied onto a shift pedal 210. The first link mechanism 220 includes a movable member moving against an energizing force of a spring, by applying the load onto the shift pedal 210, and the first switch SW1. The first switch SW1 is turned on by moving the movable member by a prescribed distance. An ECU 50 regulates at that time an output of an engine. The third switch SW3 is provided to switch an ON/OFF in response to a rotation angle of the shift shaft 250. The third switch SW3 is switched from the OFF to the ON by returning the shift shaft 250 from a rotated state to a reference angle.
