<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a symbol display device unlikely to fall off due to vibration or the like and allowing a circuit element mounted from the rear side to be easily visualized. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The symbol display device 3 including a display device body 31 having an image forming area 311 forming an optical image according to input image information includes: a main substrate 34 arranged on the rear side of the display device body 31 to extend along the image forming area 311 and performing drive control of the display device body 31; a sub-substrate 35 connected to connectors 342, 352 provided on the circuit element mounting surface of the main substrate 34 and arranged to rise from the circuit element mounting surface; and a holding means 363 suppressing the falling direction motion of the sub-substrate 35 inserted in the connectors 342, 352.
