Heating device (10, 10') comprising a housing (12) and a rotatably mounted rotor (14) having a rotation axis (t), the housing (12) having a fluid inlet (18) and a fluid outlet (20), a clearance space (16) being provided between the rotor (14) and the housing (12) for allowing fluid communication, the surface of the rotor (14) being provided with recesses for generating cavitation, wherein the heating device further comprises a gas inlet duct (28) for supplying gas to a fluid which is flown across the clearance space (16) beween the housing (12) and the rotor (14), wherein the recesses formed with varying size along a spiral path (44). Method for enhancing and controlling the heat production said heating device by supplying gas in a controlled way to a fluid flown within the clearance space (16) between the rotor (14) and the housing (12). |
