PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base shape for a suspension component which is capable of reducing the weight thereof while ensuring the high corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: In the base shape S for the suspension component, end parts 2, 2 are joined with both ends of a bar-shaped part 1. The bar-shaped part 1 comprises a bar-shaped core part 1a and a covering layer 1b for covering an outer circumferential surface of the core part 1a. The core part 1a consists of an aluminum alloy having the strength higher than that of the covering layer 1b.
