<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and lightweight endless metallic belt having strength, and a method for presetting the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this endless metallic belt, presetting is applied for causing plastic deformation by using a pulley, and compressive residual stress is applied to an outside surface. The presetting method of the endless metallic belt applies the compressive residual stress to the outside surface of the endless metallic belt by causing the plastic deformation by using the pulley.
