PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an opening/closing device for a building capable of detecting opening or closing of an opening part in a simple structure. SOLUTION: The opening/closing device for the building is provided with a winding mechanism 20 for winding up and reeling out a cord 18 according to the movement of the shutter curtain 1. The cord 18 is connected to an obstacle detecting switch arranged on a moving front end of a shutter curtain 1. Piece members 36a, 36b are fitted to the cord 18 depending on the opening/closing position of the shutter curtain 1. A swing member 38 is also provided. The swing member 38 is swung by the movement of the piece members 36a, 36b moved by the winding-up and reeling-out movement of the cord 18 by the winding mechanism 20. Further, opening/closing position detecting switches 50, 52 are mounted to detect the swing of the swing member 38. The swing member 38 is swingably supported to the winding mechanism body 30, and rotatably supports a roller 34 to the winding mechanism body 30 in a manner of facing the swinging member 38.
