An image processing apparatus includes an image accepting module, a number accepting module, a discriminating module and a criterion modifying module. The image accepting module receives image data of plural images. The number accepting module receives the number of images delimiting the received images. The number is input by a user. The discriminating module determines whether or not each of the received images corresponds to the images delimiting the received images based on a criterion. The criterion modifying module changes the criterion when the number of images determined as an image corresponding to the images delimiting the received images is not in a given relationship with the received number. The discriminating module determines, after the criterion is changed, whether or not each of the received images corresponds to the images delimiting the received images based on the modified criterion.
