The invention relates to a method and to a device for ultrasonic testing of a component section (12) protruding from a surface (X-Z plane) of a flat component (14) by means of local immersion technique, wherein a test head arrangement (16) having a test head (50), which is supported so as to be movable in the X direction transversely to the component section (12) to be tested and to which force is applied so that the test head lies against the component section, is moved along the component section (12). In order to be able to perform a fully automatic test of components having difficult geometric and spatial proportions, it is provided that the test head arrangement (16) comprises a test head holder (20), which holds the test head (50), and a mating holder (22), that the test head holder (20) and the mating holder (22) are steered from a closed first position into an open second position by means of an actuation element (30), that the test head arrangement (16) is positioned over the component section (12) to be tested by a handling apparatus, wherein the test head holder (20) and the mating holder (22) are steered by means of the actuation element (30) into the closed first position, in which force is applied to the test head holder (20) and the mating holder (22) so that the test head holder and mating holder lie against side surfaces (34, 36) of the component section (12), and that the test head arrangement (16) is then driven fully automatically in the longitudinal direction of the component section (12) to be tested according to a specified data set that describes the contour of the component (14) and/or component section (12) along said contour, wherein contour changes of the component section (12) and/or the flat component (14) are compensated by the test head arrangement (16), which is supported in a floating manner so as to be longitudinally movable at least in the Y direction. |
