PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and lightweight medium housing part and an automatic bill depositing machine provided with the medium housing part. SOLUTION: The automatic bill depositing machine houses paper money in the medium housing part 5. The automatic bill depositing machine includes: a cassette 10 having a plurality of locking holes 12 formed vertically on a sidewall 11 at predetermined intervals; a stage 20 provided in a vertically movable manner in the cassette 10; a storage guide 30 provided above the state 20; a pressing plate 40 arranged above the stage 20 to apply downward pressing force to the stage 20; and a biasing member 60 for always biasing upward force to the stage 20. The stage 20 is provided with a locking member 22 provided movably in a horizontal direction and lockably in the locking holes 12, and an elastic member 23 for biasing force in the direction of the sidewall 11 to the locking member 22, wherein the locking member 22 has a slope part 22b inclined upward toward the sidewall 11 on the bottom surface.
