PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plated article whose base material is formed from a magnesium alloy and prevented from being corroded and to which a metallic gloss is imparted by forming a metal plating film on the base material formed from the magnesium alloy. SOLUTION: The plated article is obtained by forming a primer layer on a base material formed from a magnesium alloy, then forming a coating film layer containing electroconductive polymer fine particles and a synthetic resin on the primer layer, and forming a metal film on the coating film layer by an electroless plating method. The primer layer has a thickness of 10-50 μm, and in the coating film layer, the mass ratio of the electroconductive polymer fine particles to the synthetic resin is within the range from 1:10 to 1:150.
