PURPOSE: A kit for diagnosing hyperpigmentation is provided to sensitively and quickly predict pigmentation using a marker gene for pigmentation. CONSTITUTION: A kit for diagnosing hyperpigmentation contains a gene selected from gene. The gene expression is enhanced by UV irradiation. A marker for diagnosing hyperpigmentation contains a protein selected from proteins of table 1. The protein expression is also enhanced by UV irradiation. A diagnosis kit contains a polynucleotide having 10 polynucleotides or conplementary polynucleotide thereof, and a solid phase support coupled on the surface. A method for screening a hyperpigmentation inhibitor comprises: a step of treating a test material to the protein and a step of confirming promotion or suppression of protein activation.
