<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify an input ABR(Area Border Router) from among input candidate ABRs. <P>SOLUTION: The method of specifying an input edge router includes:obtaining a first value of an input packet counter from each of input candidate ABRs having possibility to receive from a router in an adjacent area a specified packet transmitted from a destination address to a source address and passing through a specified area; transmitting a test packet having a destination address of an output ABR supplying the specified packet or a test packet having the destination address of the specified packet, to a source router in the adjacent area connected to a network indicated by a source address; obtaining a second value of the input packet counter from each of the input candidate ABRs; calculating a difference between the first and second values in each input candidate ABR; and specifying an input ABR through which the specified packet passes according to the difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
