<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix device which causes no increase of a peripheral part even if an optical sensor and a driving circuit are arranged on the same side on an active matrix substrate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Scanning line-driving circuits are arranged distributedly on the left and right peripheral parts, and optical sensors are arranged opposite to each other across a display area. The optical sensors and the scanning line-driving circuits are alternately arranged, and timing is exchanged between the scanning line-driving circuit units through scanning lines.
