PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a reduction in power consumption and suppression of deterioration of fuel economy by suppressing turbulence generation and an increase in a pressure loss when a butterfly valve is fully opened. SOLUTION: In this intake device for an internal combustion engine, the butterfly valve having a valve plate 4 divided into two first and second valve plates 5, 6 with a screw fastening portion 7 fastened and fixed to a valve shaft 3 by a plurality of fastening screws 8 as a boundary is arranged in an intake manifold 1. The first valve plate 5 arranged upstream of the screw fastening portion 7 in an intake air flow direction when the butterfly valve is fully opened has a bent portion 33 bent to a valve opening side in a valve rotating direction with respect to the pathline of an air flow flowing through the air flow passage 2 of the intake manifold 1. Thereby, when the butterfly valve is fully opened, it is possible to press a stopper lever to a fully open stopper by the assist of an intake load applied to the first valve plate 5.
