A lighting apparatus (101) according to the present invention includes: a plurality of solid state light emitting devices (131); a holding unit (132) which holds the plurality of solid state light emitting devices (131); a casing (102) inside which the holding unit (132) is disposed; a first terminal (104a) and a second terminal (104b) disposed at a longitudinal end of the casing (102); a third terminal (104c) and a fourth terminal (104d) disposed at the other longitudinal end of the casing (102); a first rectification unit (155) which converts alternating current power, supplied from an external source to the first terminal (104a) and the third terminal (104c), into direct current power, and to supply the direct current power to the plurality of solid state light emitting devices (131); and a second rectification unit (156) which converts alternating current power, supplied from the external source to the second terminal (104b) and the fourth terminal (104d), into direct current power, and to supply the direct current power to the plurality of solid state light emitting devices (131).
