A belt made from a soft, inelastic polyester strap, rubber, silicone and thread, which is fitted on the thighs of the swimmer during the performance of the difficult - in relation to technique - whip-kick forward swimming movement. It is fitted eight centimetres above the base of the knee-caps, and restricts the distance between the knees during the phase of upward shin movement towards the hips in a first opening position A and during the phase of pushing the legs to a second open position B, distances which are dictated by a biokinetic analysis of the forward whip-kick swimming movement. The belt for assisting swimming technique, designed on the basis of specific anthropometric particulars of any swimmer, has sewn to the strap - which forms a flexible circle - two parallel rows of rubber elements perpendicular to one another in pairs, one row having lengthening rubber elements (strap length from A to B) and the other having elastic elements for fastening the belt to the thigh. The belt is used while practising, when carrying out the exercises already used to teach and improve the difficult - in relation to technique - forward whip-kick swimming movement, it improves that movement more quickly and more perfectly, and allows the movement to be taught to the same quality standard even with a large number of swimmers. |
