The sprayer (11) has a housing (12) provided with a cylindrical mantle section (13) and a base section (14), which form an accommodation chamber (16) for a pourable or paste-like medium. An outlet opening (17) is provided for the pourable or paste-like medium. A spray unit (18) is arranged in the outlet opening. A piston (26) is guided into the housing in a movable manner for changing volumes of the accommodation chamber. The housing and the piston are provided as a part of double-action hydraulic cylinders. The base section is detachably fixed at the mantle section of the housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for spraying small amount of pourable or paste-like medium.
