PURPOSE: A system and a method for displaying information are provided to solve problems resulting from the scalability of solutions. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of clients(106) are coupled with a server(104) through a network(102) such as the Internet. The clients use a browser to display the information of the server. The server acts as a portal that provides the browser of the client with a single point of access for services and programs accessible to the server. The server passes a pagelet including fragments to the browser and the browser has a fragment controller loaded. An end user interacts with the fragment markup of a view and activates a link which has been rewritten to activate a JavaScript fragment object associated with the view and pass in the interaction parameters. The fragment object constructs an interaction URI which includes the interaction parameters and calls a fragment controller to retrieve the fragment corresponding to the URI. The fragment controller requests the URI from the server. The gateway server may validate the URI to ensure that parameters of the URI fall within an appropriate range.
